Collaborative Activity 8 (Discussion): Assessment Case Studies
For this discussion, we will use video case studies related to teaching and learning.
- There are four videos. You only need to respond to and discuss one of the videos.
- You may want to consider choosing a case study that is outside your field of expertise.
- In each video, a fictional professor will briefly describe their assessments.
Questions to consider while watching the videos:
- What would you want to ask the professor or service provider about their assessments?
- How might their assessments be redesigned in order to be more aligned with the UDL framework in an online learning environment?
Choose one case study to respond to in your LMS's discussion board, if available. To give you some ideas, you may use the question handout from the previous section: Module 4 Handout – Creating UDL Informed Assessments.

UDL – Chef
>> Okay, Chefs. Let’s review what will be required for your cooking demonstration when you’ll demonstrate your course outcomes. Prepare a quality, three course meal in a timely manner. You will need to have the recipes memorized and you’ll be working at your own station. No talking with your peers is allowed, as I want to be able to assess your skills. I know you might be nervous because this is worth 40 per cent of your grade, but we’ve practiced hard and I’ve seen you all improve a lot.
